Kevin J. Martin

Kevin Martin is Executive Director of the Illinois Insurance Association, a state property-casualty insurance trade association. Mr. Martin regularly advocates public policy positions on behalf of member companies before the state legislature, executive branch offices, regulatory agencies, and media. Martin also oversees efforts to boost consumer understanding of insurance products.
Prior to joining the Illinois Insurance Association Mr. Martin served under Illinois’ Governor Jim Edgar’s administration. As Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs, Kevin was responsible for directing legislative activities for 60 code agencies under Governor Edgar’s authority.
Mr. Martin was House Liaison during Governor Thompson’s tenure, managing legislative matters of interest to the Governor and his administration. Martin represented Governor Thompson in numerous negotiations and advised the Governor on issues pertaining to energy, natural resources, education, banking, and transportation.
Mr. Martin also worked as Director of Legislative Affairs for the Illinois Department of Conservation and the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois College in Jacksonville.
